MY NAMETAGS FAQs

Your most important questions answered

WHICH NAMETAGS SHOULD I CHOOSE?

We believe there is a nametag out there for everyone! Deciding which type is perfect for you depends on where you would like to use them and how colourful you'd like them to be.

Our colour stickers are the most versatile as they are suitable for items, (stationery, books, pens etc) and clothing labels, and are available in a wide range of designs. If you want to attach the labels to fabrics however, it might be worth considering the colour iron-on nametags.

    WHICH NAME LABELS ARE BEST?

For clothing and other items, our sticker name labels are the best solution. They can be applied to anything from lunch boxes and water bottles to clothes and shoes.

Iron-on labels are a good choice for clothing as these can be applied anywhere, directly to the fabric.

WHERE CAN I BUY NAME LABELS?

Previously name labels would need to be ordered by visiting specialist school supply shops. These labels were often black and white sew-in or iron-on labels. However, it is now possible to design customisable, high quality labels online.

    HOW TO SEW IN LABELS

Sew-in labels should be applied to clothing. They should be placed in an obvious position which is visible to anyone who might find the item of clothing, such as in the collar or the waistband. However, sewing in labels is a time-consuming process and these labels are liable to wear or come unstitched. This is why sticker and iron-on labels have been created. These can be applied in seconds, to save busy parents time.

    HOW TO MAKE NAME LABELS

It is possible to create name labels online with ease. Name labels can be customised with colour designs to make for a unique and recognisable name tag.

    WHERE TO PUT NAME TAGS?

Name tags should be applied to an area of the item which will be immediately visible should it go missing. We suggest applying our colour sticker nametags to the care label, on the side, inside clothing. Labels can also be placed inside shoes or on items such as lunch boxes or water bottles. Iron-on labels should be applied directly to the fabric.

    WHAT ARE NAME TAGS?

A name tag is a label which can be applied to clothing or items such as water bottles or lunch boxes. They are generally used by parents for children to prevent their things from going missing and are also helpful for the personal possessions of the elderly in care homes.

    WHY USE NAME TAGS?

Name tags are a simple solution to the problem of lost property. Simply applying them to clothing or other items such as shoes or lunch boxes can ensure that they don’t go missing. It is a good idea to add a phone number to the labels, to help if someone finds the lost items.

WHERE TO BUY STICK ON NAME TAGS

Previously name tags would need to be ordered by visiting specialist school supply shops. These labels were often black and white sew-in or iron-on labels. However, it is now possible to design customisable, high quality stick on name tags online.

Name tags are generally small in size, yet large enough for the text on them to be readable. The ideal size for a label is around 30 x 13mm. This is big enough for them to be easy to read and identify, and means that they can fit on most items such as coats, jumpers, and stationery.

It is very easy to order name tags online. These can be created with a high level of personalisation which allows for designs to be created which are highly distinctive. Ordering labels online is quick and easy, with the name tags often arriving very soon after the order has been placed.
